Product Master Min/Max Ordering

Hi

I have a product master that has multiple styles that can increase and decrease at anytime. I need the min/max figures to be compared against the total quantities of all styles not set against each individual style.

So in theory I need the min/max figures compared against the master products total physical stock not each of the styles

Is there away to do this without customisation?

Thanks in advance

    Hi Harold,

I don't believe this is possible in Standard Dynamics AX.

Once a product master has a dimension group assigned, it them becomes mandatory to specify which variant of the product master you are referencing in most forms.

So in this instance, if you had multiple colours of t-shirts, you can only set a min/max by colour variant as opposed to T shirts as a whole.

Do you have some more information about your scenario?

I believe AX works in this way to provide logic to some orders, for example in planning, if your safety stock needed replenishing for a product master, during an MRP run AX would have no understanding of which variants/in what quantity to order them.

    Thanks

We have products that have batch numbers but using the AX batch processes within ERP will not work through MPOS.

When we sell a product through MPOS it just reduces the that products stock quantity level but just chooses the first batch number in the sequence that holds stock. You cannot select the batch,

The only way we've found away around this is to make the batch numbers a style this then allows you to select the batch at MPOS.

This is why I asked the above question

Sorry, what is MPOS referring to? Is this a separate system?

On a sales order, as standard, you can select the batch number you wish to deduct from on the sales line product detail

    Thank you

MPOS is Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012R3 Modern Point Of Sale

We are running MPOS in some of our retail outlets
