Hello

While trying to apply a Software Deployable Package to a cloud hosted dev machine the following error was found in an error log downloaded:

"The specified module 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Security Client\MpProvider' was not loaded because no valid module file was found in any module directory."

There is a related post: https://community.dynamics.com/365/financeandoperations/f/dynamics-365-for-finance-and-operations-forum/462669/cloud-hosted-environment-update-failed/1267233 which showed another related error found with VSIX.

I don't find any related error with VSIX in the error logs I downloaded.

This feels like a misleading error message and that it is an effect of some other problem.

Anyone have any ideas on this one?

Are you applying a custom package or a Microsoft package. If the later is the case, from which version to which one are you upgrading to?

Few things you should check before reapplying the update.

1. Build your models without errors,

2. Visual studio should be closed.

3. Launch Visual studio installer, update Visual studio then reapply package.

Hi Jim,

Komi provided valid suggestions. The last time I saw this error message, someone did log in on the VM and opened Visual Studio while the deployment was executing.

Hello Komi,

So I built a new SDP (Software deployable package) today with two small custom code changes, and updates for two ISV packages. That SDP deployed correctly to my environments for testing!
