Automated Testing of FS Mobile

Posted on by 81

Hi

I can't seem to find anything on the web about automated testing with FS Mobile. Has anyone had any luck with this please?

My company has two mobile solutions in development, following successful release of web-based applications.

I have done some automation for a POC using an Appium-based tool but initial thoughts are that it is too time consuming for an Agile project.

The main concern is that elements on screen do not have any identifiers and tester must use xpath (slow and prone to breaking).

I am also unsure whether the Dynamics upgrade cycle would affect FS Mobile? Does anyone have a view on the extent of changes in the mobile app? I have not been using it long enough to have an opinion.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks, Dan

One thing I would mention is that apps within InTune (MAM) cannot be found on a device, or automated, as far as I can see. This question has been asked several times on Google I note.

It would be preferable to test an app installed in the corporate process. Regards, Dan

Hi Dan, thank you for checking. And it is good news Appium has been working well.

    Hi Koji

thank you for suggestions, was wondering whether MS produced anything in this domain but it seems not. Appium looks like a good fit at the moment.

Would also be interested in knowing the typical scale of design changes introduced by six-monthly upgrade cycle, if anybody can feed back?

Above comment is mine. If you want to mention please reply to me.

If your test means e2e test for built native app, as you said you have to use e2e tools like Appium.
