How to handle manual processes?

In the current custom tool we have for order management, the process is a follows.

(Medical products)

1. Order comes in

2. Sales/Customer care verify that everything looks correct and that the product that is orders match the treatment

3. Sales/Customer care changes status of the order to "Ready for fulfillment"

4. Logistics takes the order, checks it again prints out relevant documents get tracking ID from currier

5. Logistics changes status of the order to "Ready for pick"

6. Lab picks the order

7. Lab changes status to "Ready for shipment"

8. End of day Logistics verify the number of shipments pack with number of packages

9. Curries picks up.

To ease that change into a new system, we want to make it possible for some of the people to manually push the order to the next stage.

Is this possible to do a manual step in the orchestration ?

I have the same question (0)

Nothing in the UI provides for that currently. You could write an orchestration that raises an output event (e.g.; Validation of Order Lines has Succeeded) that is not the input event for the next step. The input event for the next step could be a custom Business Event that you define, and you would add a button to the sales order to raise the event for that order, similar to what we do when you click the Orchestrate button the sales order.

    Hmm.. okay.

A form of related question, when I open the IOM app in edit mode I can see some extra buttons in the menu, "Create Invoice", "Fulfill Order" etc. am I missing some permissions or ?

My guess was the "Fulfill Order" might do what I needed?
