It is possible to create 2 sales order lines with identical line numbers as described below:
- Add 2 lines to a sales order e.g. by pressing Ctrl-N:
- Insert Item number in line number 2. Note that Line numbers are correct: 1,000 and 2,000
- Move cursor to Line number 1 and select Item number. Note that Line numbers are still correct: 1,000 and 2,000
- When you press Enter or Tab, the Line number is automatically changed to 2,000:
It often happens when a sales taker creates a new sales order and quickly presses Ctrl-N to create a sales order line. This results in 2 lines, and if an item number is added to both lines, they will get the same line number.
The same problem does NOT occur on the purchase order.
It can be reproduced in a standard Ax2012 R3. Does anyone know if there is a hotfix for this?
