Hello,

I need to check that all income and expense accounts in Business central are set up correctly. They all have to have the dimension "cost center" set as ‘mandatory code’. I only know how to check them one by one. Is there a way to list all accounts with their dimension settings?

Thanks in advance

Good morning, afternoon, or evening depending on your location!

Yes! You can list all accounts with their dimension settings in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central without checking them one by one. Here’s how:
    1. Use the Default Dimensions Page
    • Navigate to Finance > Dimensions > Default Dimensions.
    • Here, you can filter by G/L Accounts and check which accounts have the "Cost Center" dimension set as Mandatory Code.
    2. Export Data to Excel
    • Open the Chart of Accounts.
    • Click Dimensions > Dimensions-Multiple to view dimension settings for multiple accounts.
    • Use the Edit in Excel feature to export the data and filter accounts based on the "Cost Center" dimension.
    3. Run a Custom Report
    • If you need a structured report, create a Financial Dimension Analysis report.
    • Use Analysis Views to filter accounts by dimension settings.
    4. Use Power BI for Advanced Filtering
    • Connect Business Central to Power BI and create a report that lists all accounts with their dimension settings.
    • Apply filters to show only accounts where "Cost Center" is set as Mandatory Code.

    Hope this helps some!

Go to Configuration Packages, add the Default Dimensions table, and export to Excel. In excel Filter Table No. = 15 to see dimensions for G/L.

Go to the G/L Accounts page >Select any line > Click Navigate > Dimensions > Default Dimensions or Config package is the best option

    Thanks, Ramesh
