Regarding: Action Required - .NET version and Visual Studio 2017

Hi Joris,

Can you please confirm that if I delete my development environment which is a cloud-hosted environment on our own subscription, and have a new one redeployed, that it will be deployed with VS 2017 or will it still come with VS 2015 and I have to manually install VS 2017?

I just looked and if I choose to add a new environment to be deployed, it now defaults to install V10.0.13 PU 37.

If I read your link (https://community.dynamics.com/365/financeandoperations/b/newdynamicsax/posts/action-required---net-version-and-visual-studio-2017?pifragment-92857=1) correctly, then the deployment process should install v4.7.2 .Net framework automatically for cloud-hosted environments, correct?

I just want to confirm all the above because it is a lot of work to get the environment also ready for retail development and putting  a backup of our DB in place. I don't want to delete my environment and then I have to install VS2017 manually again. If it doesn't come with all of the above, then I will just upgrade the .Net framework manually because I already installed VS 2017 manually, having VS 2015 and VS 2017 running

I have the same question (0)

If you look at the blog it clearly says , you can manually install .net framework v4.7.2 before applying V10.0.13 PU 37  on your current VM and the update in red shows the new VM with 10.0.13 PU 37 will have  it preinstalled with VS 2017 .

So if you are not ready to deploy new VM yet , before installing10.013 install .net framework v4.7.2.

We recommend customer to redeploy DEV VM with new image in PU37.  It brings all the required default settings including VS2017

If you deploy a new VM today, and choose 10.0.13/PU37 (or above), yes it WILL have VS2017 on it.
