Dynamics AX AOT shows data in table but SQL query on that table/entity does not show the data

Posted on by 20

AX2012 R3 CU9
Table is in AOT and data in AOT shows fine.

Problem:  In SQL, query on that table for that specific entity (company XXX for discussion) does not show.  SQL query for data for other companies is displayed in SQL fine.

Example: We can run a query to see the data from the AOT for the United State and Netherlands.  However, when we query a newly created company (company XXX for discussion), we do not see any data in SQL...we just see the column headers.  Again, the data is in AX AOT.

As mentioned, company XXX is a new company that we set up, so perhaps we're missing something in the setup.

Any help is much appreciated.

Hello Judy and thank you for the quick response.  The issue still exists even after we verified the name and other data under Legal entities.   There seems to be some sort of disconnect between AX and SQL for this specific query.  It is not clear to us why we see the data in the CompanyInfo table in the AX AOT but we don't get any data when we run a Select * statement in SQL on that table.   The screenshot shows an example where we do see data when we run a query for dataarea '100'.  The same query for dataarea '580' is blank - - - yet, in AX AOT on that table, we see data.  This entity '580' is a newly created entity which leads me to think that maybe something in the setup needs added.  This is stopping our financials so it's pretty important we get it resolved.  Again, thanks for any help you can offer.

    Hi Deborah,

You can create or modify a legal entity by clicking Organization administration > Setup > Organization > Legal entities > New. the detailed steps you can refer to the MS document:docs.microsoft.com/.../create-or-modify-a-legal-entity

For the info you metioned, suggest you check if the company name used for query is correct writting or is abbreviation used.
