NAV 2017 Upgrade from NAV 2016 Obsolete tables

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi

I have upgrades a NAV 2016, without changes in Application code, to NAV 2017 CU01.

I have followed this description: msdn.microsoft.com/.../upgrading-the-data

After the upgrade, I have some tables that cannot compile, and it seems like these is obsolete.

I have found these tables until now:

470 Job Queue

824 DO Payment Connection Details

825 DO Payment Connection Setup

826 DO Payment Setup

827 DO Payment Credit Card

828 DO Payment Credit Card Number

829 DO Payment Trans. Log Entry

830 DO Payment Card Type

1510 Notification Template

Question:

Do I have to delete these tables manually, or did I miss something in the process?

    Saurav, you are right.

Table 5181 was a 'left-over' from an earlier upgrade.

    Thx.

RE: NAV 2017 Upgrade from NAV 2016 Obsolete tables

    HI mgm,

I did an upgrade from NAV 2016 to NAV 2017. Below is the list of tables that need to be deleted.

    470|824|825|826|827|828|829|830|1305|1510|5150|5371|5372|8640

This is only if you are upgrading from 2016 to 2017. For NAV 2015/2013R2/2013 the list will have more tables.

    Hope it helps.

RE: NAV 2017 Upgrade from NAV 2016 Obsolete tables

    My 2 Cents -

    1. We should delete them manually.

Reason - It will cause a problem in future if we keep obselete tables. I have faced those challanges in NAV 2009 where during last upgrade developers did not delete those obselete tables.

    2. I Don't know why but microsoft removed a step in Upgrade Routine?

Till NAV 2013 R2 (if i am not wrong) after step 2 completion there used to be a step Mark upgrade toolkit objects and Mark un-used objects.

Microsoft have removed these two steps after NAV 2015. That need to be fixed. I will try to raise it as a product suggestion.

    Hi Mohana

Thank you for a quick reply. :-)

    just to be sure:

So it's normal procedure that we manually deletes obsolete table's after the upgrade process?
