Item Sales By Period - Quantity Sold

Hi all,

i have task to create report Quantity sold by item from Jan 2017 to Dec 2017 in excel

currently what i'm doing is i go to Navision 5.0 -> Sales Backoffice -> Sales Analyses -> Item -> Item sales by period

then i filter by section and copy all to excel

could there be a better way, such as connect from excel to related table and use pivot table to filter by period

right now i don't know which table to connect to

Any replied is much appreciated

Hello,

There is no simple answer to this or really a single table, because different information is stored in different Ledger Entry tables (for example, sales for Item line types versus sales for other line types (such as Resources, G/L Accounts, & Fixed Assets) are not in the same place. You will need to study how the pertinent tables relate to sales information and how to join them.

However, you could start with the [Item Ledger Entry] and [Value Entry] tables, and you may need the [Cust Ledger Entry] table or more depending on your objective.

By the way, you can't trust the [Sales Invoice Header], [Sales Invoice Line], [Sales Cr_Memo Header], and [Sales Cr_Memo Line] tables because Invoice documents can be deleted by the users. Also, these tables don't get updated by the Adjust Cost - Item Entries process and won't contain the most accurate item costing data.

You can use the Daily Invoicing Report in NAV, by date range, to help you know the sales amount your report should have for verification purposes. Good luck.

Hi Mohamad,

If you just need Quantity, then the best table is Item Ledger Entry, filtering by Posting Date, Entry Type = Sales. Then field Quantity will give you what you want.
