Hi,
I'm new to MS Dynamics and wondered if there is a way to get a list of linked modules and the name of the application that a Field Service application is dependant on.
I have had a look at the solution and customizations xml but quite honestly I am struggling to understand them.
Any help would be much appreciated
Rae
Hi Rea.
The Field Service app runs on top of the Power Platform, and it will manage its dependency itself.
There are a few components shared with other apps if you install them. E.g. Resource Scheduling, Portal, etc.
I assume you will deploy your solution to another environment with Field Service installed.
Hi Gabriel,
Thanks for getting back to me.
What I am trying to do is get a view of what other applications is our Field Service instance dependant on regardless of the depednancy being out of the box or one our devs have introduced.
The reason I ask is so we can manage the impacts before we look making changes to an application or aiding with any issues we need to resolve.
Do you know of a means where I could get this information from I was hoping the solution or customization.xml may be the place to go.
Once again thanks for the input
Hi Rae,
You can find more details in the link.

Hi Abdul,
Thanks for responding to my query.
I had a look at the documentation (I could be missing it) but I couldn't find what I was looking for.
For example.
If we introduced the Resource Scheduling Optimization (RSO) application and added it to the Field Service application
Is there something that would tell me that the Field Service application has a dependency on the RSO ?
Thanks in advance
As per my understanding, Bookable resource booking, Bookable Resource, Bookable Resource Category, Bookable Resource Characteristics, Bookable Resource Grop, Work Order, Service Accounts and the scheduled Board are dependent on the Reource Schedule Optimation model. I do not remember others but my be there are. You need to read out the link and the link carefully and completely for more details.
Sorry I'm not explaining this correctly.
If I am using the schedule board in the Field Service application like so
And the by and configure the RSO to take advantage of it's scheduling enhancements in the Field Service schedule board.
I now have something like so.
My question is once this has happened how can I determine there is a dependency on the RSO for the Field Service app without digging into the solution?
i.e. is there a config file or view that will tell me this.
Further Example.
If I took it further.. If a developer decided to present the Field Service Schedule Board in the Sales app like so
Again 3-6 months post this implementation is there a way of getting a view that tells me the Sales application has a dependency on the Field Service application without digging into the forms etc. ?
Does that make it clearer what I'm asking ?
I was hoping (praying) I could export a file which would produce something like this.
<Application>
<Name> Field Service <Name/>
...
<Dependencies>
<Applications>
<Name> Resource Schedule Optimization <Name/>
<Application/>
<Applications/>
<Dependencies/>
