Hello everyone I am trying to add a total discount for the sales order and the total discount field is blankhow to make it editable
It seems that you need to tick "Total discount override" if you want to set your own value instead of the calculated one.

All right, I must admit that I'm not familiar with this Call center functionality. A comment in code says that "A user may not turn on a price override via the checkbox, they may only turn off the price override via the checkbox.".
You would need to allow override on the release product before the checkbox can be enabled on the sale order.
