Trouble with Languages in Personalization

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

I installed NAV 2013 build 36366.  When changing language in user personalization, there are no languages listed in the "Windows Languages" window.  There are the appropriate language subdirectories in the NAV directories but it appears that table 200000045 is empty.  I reran setup using the repair function and still have an empty Windows Languages window.  I also detached  the Cronus Demo database and moved it.  I then ran setup again which created a new Demo database.  Still no entries in the Windows Languages screen.  I have installed the entire system including the servers on a laptop running Windows 8.1.  The language table is a hidden system file so I cannot see it either in NAV or in SQL.  Does anyone have a fix for this problem?

    hi,

it seems that you are missing the language modules.

    for nav 2013:

    see mbs.microsoft.com/.../MSDNAV2013LanguageModules

    for nav2013r2:

    mbs.microsoft.com/.../MSDNAV2013R2LanguageModules

    best regards

    Hi,

Please download the language pack from partner source or customer source and you need to install it.

    Hi

Have you received any errors during installation ,check the error log, if you didn't receive any errors then on the Rtc client click "Select language" & check, let us know are you able to select languages if not let us know which country version you have installed.

    Regards

Unfortunately, I have tried all of the suggestions.  I am using the US version of NAV 2013.  I am running the Cronus Demo database.  The strange thing, is that the languages worked for a period of time after doing a complete recovery of my hard drive.  Then after a few days, I could no longer access the languages.  You can see when I try to change languages, there are none.  The language folders in the NAV Server directory appear correct compared with other installations on other computers.  Personally, I think there may be some interference from a windows 8.1 update somewhere.

    hi,

    as you wrote:

    * check if there are incompatilities with win8.1 and nav2013r2.

    * but more i think it's a consequence of your hard drive recovery. as a result something went wrong recovering the registry. the language files are in the correct folder and maybe the files are not corrupted (what also could be). it can be that the registry entries are not valid. if one of the last options are true a new installation is the only chance. but first make a complete check of your hard drive and partitions (defragement, ...)

    best regards

    Hi..

Can you please try to reinstall the client and language packs on your machine?

I think it will repair any missing folder or files from the installation.

    Regards,
