Hi all, In software Update checklist,while doing Full application compilation no issue, during Full CIL - got errors in default classes Like below in various classes:

CIL generation: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.

CIL generation: Source array was not long enough. Check srcIndex and length, and the array's lower bounds.

CIL generation: Error: .NET Cast Type Name not found. Type System.String found on the stack. This code in Class/Table: PayrollTaxEngineUtil, Method: getGNISLocations may not work in CIL run time.

Deleted Xppl folder and tried, still errors coming.

Try an AOT compile in the AX client, maybe you ran axbuild against the wrong instance.

Also if you have brought over your business data, some AIF ports might be broken until you refresh services.

Thanks for the reply Vilmos.

I have only one instance and Compiled AOT in client.

Now i'm getting sysntax errors in default classes.

in Class\DimensionHierarchyController - Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.Frameworks.Controls.Dimensions.HierarchyDesigner

Class\CostBIChartSliceController - Microsoft.Dynamics.Framework.Portal.UI.WebControls.AxChartDataSource

Hi Sathish,

Can you try this :

Stop the service . Go to SSMS . Truncate the data from the table SysXPPAssembly (model database). Restart the service. try a full IL.

I Stopped AOS, Deleted Xppl folder and truncated the Table SYSXPPAssembly and restarted the AOS and done full AOT compile. Still Same error.

Now it's time to check if references in AOT point to correct dll. During upgrade you may have new dll in client or server bin folder, but sometimes references not get updated or you are using not updated client ...

Ok so my suspicion was right that you indeed have compilation errors which were not revealed by axbuild, and preventing CIL compilation.

Those classes are using .Net assembly references. You might have the wrong .Net framework, or an installation/Windows update could have broken it.

You could try to re-install the .Net framework required for the AX version you have, check it in the System requirements guide.

If you are unable to fix it, since you are talking about a Dev workspace, try doing a fresh install from a newly created Windows virtual machine, and installing pre-requisites, then putting AX on top.
