Employee ID - legal entity-specific

Hi All,

Client is looking for an option to have country specific employee id (e.g US: 100; Canada: 101)

As far as I know, we can only set single number sequence format under HR shared parameters.

Is there any way to make it work country specific.

Also, why it is best practice to maintain global number sequence for employee ID as defined in D365 HR.

Please advice.

    Hi Poonam,

    As you know D365 HR is merged with D365 F&O - HR. You need customization to achieve this.

    Other options(Dynamics 365 HR) : You can create a custom field and add a number number via Power automate based on employee company.

    For example : Employee A, personnel number 1000 and Legal entity : USMF then you can generate USMF-1000 something like this via power automate.

    You need to check weekly/monthly via Power automate to update the number sequence for all employee.

    Thanks Parag for your prompt response.

    I am setting up the auto number sequencing in new merged D365 F&O-HR since that is available as an OOB functionality.

    I just wanted to understand that why Microsoft recommends to have it as global number sequence and why there is no provision for LE specific number.
