Tracking in D365 Meetings in Outlook sends MULTIPLE emails again to the attendees

This is definitely the most frustrating that is happening in our environment lately and want to check if other companies are having the same issues -
 
We had a meeting that was sent to 51 attendees a couple of months ago, with Zoom meeting link etc.  Today, a team member opened the meeting invitation (he is an attendee and not a host but he can still see the meeeting) and clicked the D365 plug-in, and tracked the meeting. There was no pop-up that asks if you want to resend the meeting invitation to the attendees, it just closed the meeting window.
 
Within a minute, it sent 5 updates to the 51 attendees and the body of the meeting was removed - the entire Zoom link is gone or gibberish.
 
Has anyone else experienced this?
