Custom web services in d365fo

Hi

Please explain me the purpose of Custom web services. 

Let say

We can do Sales order confirmation with or without Custom web services. 

Why we required here custom services for so confirmation?

That difference I not understand.

Kindly elaborate me with example please

    In short, custom services allow you to call methods written in X++ from outside of D365FO. Please explain what exactly you don't understand.

    Links can lead to useful pages with information you may be interested in. You should try opening them, reading the information and expanding your knowledge. I see no reason why we should duplicate everything here just because you don't like links.

    Regarding sales order confirmation - no, using a custom service is not the only option. If you want to talk about options for a particular business scenario, please explain your scenario. But create a new thread for that, because that's a different topic than "the purpose of Custom web services".
