Hi Folks, I created a custom entity called API Vendor which has a field name called agency_name. Please see the field name below

When I went to create the key, i could not see the field to choose as a Available Attributes.

But I tried to created another custom entity similar to this, i was able to pick the field in the Available Attributes. I do not know what i'm missing here

I have the same question (0)

Finally, I figured it out as the Issue is the field length of the Single line of Text. The Character length was set to 500. it should be less than 400 characters.

When I set to 300 characters, it solved my Issue

    Hi Bipin Kumar

I have checked the field which is not field security enabled.

I do not want to recreate the entity as this entity has already referenced to many components.

I'm going to raise the ticket with Microsoft and fix it in Meta data layer.

    Thanks for your suggestions

    Hi,

Strange, Please see below some of the limitations while adding Alternate key in Dynamics 365.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../define-alternate-keys-entity

Check if you have appllied field security profile on the field.

As suggested in above you can recreate entity or use second entity.

If found helpful, Please mark my answer verified.

There is not different. I guess it could be a Meta Data corruption. Sure I will drop the field and re-create it again.

    Hi,

Is there any difference between the two entity fields? If not then seems liek the metadata for the first entity was not created properly at the backend. Will suggest you to continue with the 2nd entity or recreate the field in the first entity and verify.
