Hi,
Is it possible to export the electronic report Trial Balance with Details to a file server outside of dynamics using file types. My requirement is to set a recurance on the report electronic report Trial Balance with Details to run on a daily basis were it will be exported to a file server outside of dynamics. This would be and FTP folder were it will be pushed to another system.
Thanks.
Hello Hossam,
To my knowledge that is possible only with a workaround.
The workaround can be to put the report first on a SharePoint library as the standard output destination.
Once the file is there, you can use PowerAutomate to move it to any other destination where you need it.
That's of course not perfect but it avoids making a system modification in D365FO.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Dear Hossam,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft community.
Please note that you can extend the standard code and specify a custom storage location for generated reports/documents that are using ER formats. The application programming interface (API) of the ER framework lets you extend the list of storage locations for documents that are generated using ER formats .

Thanks a lot for the information. The report export to SharePoint is working now. I need to modify the excel layout as it is including a report title and some extra rows for groupings. Also I would like to make a version with summary of the records. Also I need to change the file format to CSV. Please help me to achieve that.
Hi Hossam,
If you want to have a CSV file then there is no need to format the excel with a title and groupings because that will get removed/changed once you convert the excel to a csv.
What you can make us of to generate the csv from the excel file that you have on sharepoint is Powerautomate that can do the file conversion for you.
Hi Ludwig,
Thanks, as you have mentioned I was able to successuffly export to csv and remove the header using PowerAutomate. Is still have extra rows that I need to remove which are the opening balance and closing balance for each account group. Also I need to generate this report as a summary for each account instead of generating it with the details for each transaction date. How can edit the source or design of this report.
