Error Message: The field Product Group Code of table Item contains a value (xxx) that cannot be found in the related table (Product Group).

Hi,

I am using NAV 2013.

On Item Card, I got an error when changing the Product Group Code to Value "COMPONENT".

I have checked the Product Groups table. There is not a value called "Cleaning". When I added a value "Cleaning" and then selected the "COMPONENT" on Item card. The "COMPONENT" switched to "Cleaning". And there is no error message.

I don't need "Cleaning". I need "COMPONENT". Why was the value switched ?

do you have any customization?

Please check the Onvalidate trigger of Product Group field on Item table.

Hi,

Could you check whether there's any Item with the Product Group as CLEANING? If it's present, either you need to modify it or u need to create a Product Group Code with the value as CLEANING.

To me it looks like a violation of database integrity, caused by e.g. a situation when someone manually deleted the CLEANING value from the Product Group table, and this value is still left in the item card. You can either add this value to Product Group and perform the settings you need, and then delete CLEANING in a correct fashion.

Hi Mahesh,

I have checked all items by Jet Report. There is not any Item with CLEANING in Product Group Code field.

There is not any Item with CLEANING in Product Group Code field. When I created "CLEANING" in Product Groups, and then I selected "COMPONENT" as Product Group Code on Item Card. The value "COMPONENT" switched to "CLEANING".

Better you arrange to debug the code (Product Group > OnValidate) to resolve this issue. This is not standard behaviour.

HEY Allen,

As you know Product Group table acts as a mater table for the Product Group field in the Item, Hence any value in this field will always check in the Master Table as TestTableRelation Property is always set to YES to cross verify the entries. There might be several reasons how come this value is not there in the Master Table but if it some value which should do exist in the table then the simplest way to resolve this issue is to manually create that value. If it's something which shouldnot exit then it's a serious issue to Debug and to find out how it's hitting that value.
