Recently, we implemented a email to case via automatic record creation and update rule. But the email body contain html tag. Is this standard behaviour, if yes, how do we remove it.? Any suggestions are welcomed.

yes, this a standard behavior when copying email body to field.
You can
1. ) write a custom code to remove the html tag
- by creating a plugin or workflow, trigger on case creation .

2. ) Write JS ( not recommended)
- trigger on form onload
