is there a way to ask for employee number, if a form was inactive for about 5 minutes.
A few people are working on this inventory form. So they have to put in the employee number, when the form was inactive for about 5 minutes.
Thanks...

If I can add my two cents:
- Would it be an idea to use the Windows features fro automatic lock after some minutes? Probably a screen saver with password?
- The auto logoff as mentioned by Dominic is a viable solution. The user will have to restart the AX client and will have to browse to the form and record manually.
Additional question: Is it only retype of password or do you have to hide the form as well until the credentials are provided?
In AX 3.0 you can create a form with password field and test if the password is OK, but it is not possible to hide all forms currently open. Maybe there would be an option to minimize all or close all, but I'm not sure as AX3.0 is a long time ago.
Sorry I don't have any 3.0 installation with me to check.
However, there is the auto logoff settings per user as a last resort.
Hi,
this is a modification for AX 3.0. We didn't use the domain login in the inventory.
Thanks
Hi,
can you provide more background?
1) Which version of Dynamics AX you're using?
2) Starting AX4.0 a client is associated with a domain account. Usually there shouldn't be any need to enter employee number. Can you elaborate more on this requirement? Is it a modification?
