Hi Folks,
I have a client still using FRx. I inherited their infrastructure including their current PCs which had FRx running. We're placing the old Win 7 with Win 10 machines. Frx currently runs off each users desktop with sysdata on a network share. They have an AD domain but the new PCs are not part of the domain yet. They can get to the shares with the sysdata folder. GP is not installed yet.
When I try to install FRx, I get an error. It says:
Error 339 mscomctl.ocs or some of its dependencies are not registered properly...
I've registered this file at least 3 times through an elevated cmd prompt by executing
regsvr32 mscomctl.ocs
in c:\windows\syswow64. It says it registered successfully. I reboot the PC after each new registration and try FRx again. I get the same error. I can't get past it.
Registering the ocx file is the only resolution I've been able to find on-line.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?
Thanks.
Jim
Jim - Please update the incident after you go through Beat's post. If you are still have a problem, I probably have some helpful notes from this when I had to go through it a few years ago for an SL client still using FRx.
Hi Jim,
Am I assuming right that your Win7 & 10 machines are 64-bits ?
Have you check the user forums on the MSXGroup site ? those are likely to provide you the most help:
