How to use WMS RF CU8 to move entire pallet from one warehouse to another (without transfer order)?

Hello!

 

I am working on configuring WMS functionality with 2012 R3 CU 8 to move goods around our warehouses.

I have a situation where I want to move a pallet of goods (different types) from one warehouse to another. I do not want to use transfer orders if at all possible (too much overhead when pulling a pallet from one room to another).

I have been able to do this item-by-item, but I'd like to load the pallet in the one warehouse, and transfer the entire pallet to another warehouse, without scanning all the items on the pallet. Both the "From" and "To" warehouses are set to allow license plates.

The Warehouse Transfer function doesn't allow me to select all the items on the pallet -- it requires me to scan each item and then put on a new pallet or location in the new warehouse.

Am I missing a function that will transfer all the items on the pallet to another warehouse with one scan of the pallet label?

    Hi Patrick,

    i think you can receive a whole license plate when using transfer orders. I've done this before. you can define a mobile device menu item (Work creation process: License late receiving).

    But how do you want to avoid TO's? I assume there is a reason that the next room is another Warehouse?

    Hi, Nils.

    Yes, the next room is a different warehouse, and they need to pull goods to that warehouse. The Transfer Order process is very intensive for this small warehouse (2 workers) and they just know they need to move the goods next door. Creating the TO, picking, auto-receipt, is more involved than it should be for their size, and I'm hoping that isn't the necessary approach...

    My preference is a way to simply scan the license plate and the to warehouse/location and the transfer journal occurs. I can do this at the item level, but not at the license plate level.

    Ideas appreciated.

    Hello Patrick,

    I agree with you. If you use the mobile menu item "warehouse Transfer" you can transfer one item number on one license plate rather easy from one warehouse/Location to an other warehouse/Location. However that does not work if there are multiple items on one license plate. Then you get an error that a license plate can not exist in two different Locations. Alternatively you can scan one of the item numbers first,  assign a new license plate for it and then you are able to continue the warehouse transfer.
