Breakdown of Marketing contacts by Business Unit

Posted on by 16
Is there a way to get a breakdown of the Contacts that are being marketed to - this image is from the Quote Limits and I want to breakdown the ~14k contacts which Business Unit they are in. Is there a field or entity I can query for a /marketable/ contact?

    Thank you, Leah Ju,

That is a good suggestion and I may be able to get something put together with Power BI to those values - some are using OBM and some are using RTM. So I will think through the options there.

Apologies for my previous misunderstanding! I understand now:
You are trying to find these 13,983 contacts used in Marketing from 42K contacts, right?
    Based on the documentation:
There are currently no specific fields or entities that can be used directly as determination criteria.
The key point is in the interaction, there is an insights tab on the contact form to check:
In OBM, we can use code to retrieve interactions of contacts, but it seems that RTM not support it currently。

    As one workaround:
Maybe you can create one dynamic segment based on behavior to filter contacts:
--Add all interactions as filters whenever possible:

I hope you can mark my answer verified if it is helpful! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
    Regards,
    Leah

Thank you for your response, but that isn't my question - I know how to find the BU on a contact, which I have stated!

There are ~42k contacts in the org - only ~14k are "marketable" according to the quota limits. I want to gather those 14k contacts and query them - how do I query for those 14k contacts? Where does Microsoft mark or qualify that?

    HI Partner,
The BU of contact's owner is same with value in 'owning business unit' column in contact.

So you can use this column to get information that you need.
I hope you can mark my answer verified if it is helpful! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
    Regards,
    Leah

Sorry, for us, Business Unit is known from the Owner of the Contact record.

Thank you for your response - I know how to find the BU of a Contact. I don't from my Contact database what those ~14k contacts out of ~42,000 contact with an email address. I would like to know the filter or query to find those ~14k contacts - then I can find the BU.

    Hi Partner,
How are you using Business units to segment contacts?
    Relying on this column?
