I have a requirement to relate multiple Contact records to an Agreement record.
From the Agreement, I created a 1:N referential relationship, then added a subgrid to the Agreement form to allow adding/viewing the related records.
However, I only get the option to Delete the related record (which deletes the entire record from the system). Instead, I only want to remove the contact record from the subgrid and not delete the record.
Can this be achieved? I'm new to creating relationships between tables, so I feel it may be something I'm missing here.
When you create a 1:N referential relationship, one agreement lookup field will be created on contacts entity.
These contacts appearing in the sub-grid are related to the current agreement by the lookup field.
If you want to remove contacts from the sub-grid but not delete them, you need clear agreement lookup field, but no OOB button can help you achieve it directly.
--You can click one contact to edit it, clear the field on the form.
--If you don't want to edit it manually, you can create one on-demand workflow on contact entity.
