Q: Website Data Integration through NAV 2016?

Hi,

I was wondering if Microsoft NAV 2016 offers website integration? I'd like to send monthly visitor data updates to NAV 2016 and update our contact information. is this possible?

Can I automate the process, or do I have to send the data manually? Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

Best regards,
Arthur

depends what you want to offer. with nav web client you can provide a full functional nav client. you can define a special role center, where you define, what visitors can see and what not and a permission set to reduce the rights of the visitors.

alternatively you can use nav web services (soap or odata) to read data from and write data to nav 2016. exchange of data can done also automatically with nav job queues, where you run custom reports or codeunits (e.g. exchange data via files, ...)

    Hi Suresh, Jonathan:

I didn't explain this correctly.  We do not want to provide clients with web access to our NAV 2016.

We want to transfer our website data each month to NAV to (a) continously update client info with latest website interactions (b) provide full marketing reports. Our company recently purchased NAV 2016 and I was asked to look if there is "web integration" built-in to NAV. I've read some msdn documentation, but I don't have a clear answer.

Website data  > Nav 2016 > complete marketing reports

Is this possible to transfer web data into NAV, and to keep our NAV system updated with our clients/prospects web activities and interactions? I want to "dump" web data into NAV for further analysis.

    Thanks for the replies gents,

    Arthur

as i suggested, you can interchange data via text files (csv), export from webpage (database?), import to nav using xmlports, custom reports/codeunits. use nav job queues to run automatic updates.

you can also work with nav webservices to exchange data.

also possible direct database to database transfer, if the data should simply be saved to nav db without processing.

Thanks Johnathan, I'll look into all the possibilities you've mentioned. I appreciate your help, thank you.
