Permissions needed in Business Central to send Power Automate Approval Requests

Hi there,

Does anyone know the key permissions needed to get a Power Automate approval request to run from BC to Flow?
Just using a relatively basic PO approval to Flow and Teams.

Key Notes:
- Approval runs fine from user with Super permissions.
- When I reduce the permissions (big client, 16 reduced roles needed), the request approval submission does not make it to Flow. IE does not show up in the runs.
- On the reduced permissions, I have:
       - Automate - exec permissions set
       - Run the record permissions from a user with Super and added everything it recorded
       - Run the performance profiler from a user with Super and checked the full call tree against the permission set and everything was there
       - Added all 'Report' and 'System' permissions

Any ideas/help appreciated!

Hi, Try using the following method to record all permissions of the super user when running to see if there are any deficiencies.
Dynamics 365 Business Central: How to create or modify permissions by recording your actions (Record Permissions)

    Hope this helps.

    - I have already run the permissions recorder from a user with 'Super' then added all of those permissions in to the reduced users permissions set. When submitting the approval request after that, the entry never even creates a 'run' in flow. There is no fail record etc, it just never gets there. Runs completely fine from the Super user.

    Is it a license issue?
The super user you mentioned did you add Super permissions to this user or did you user another user?

    Thanks.

    Hello @JS-06051616-0,

I'm facing the same issue—where the Power Automate flow only runs when triggered by an action from a super user, but doesn’t trigger otherwise. Have you found a solution, or do you know which permissions need to be granted to the user for it to work correctly?

    Thanks,
