Hi Everyone,

                         I couldn't understand the 8 layers of AX 2009 so please someone explain me in detail if possible with examples.

    Hi Naveen,

    In fact there are 16 layers:

    SYS - System layer: all core functionality

    SYP - Patch layer. Used for Service packs and Roll ups

    GLS - Used for region layers like Eastern Europe

    GLP - Patch layer for GLS solutions

    HFX - Hotfix layer

    SL1 - Industry solution 1

    SL2 - Industry solution 2

    SL3 - Industry soluiton 3

    BUS - ISV layer

    BUP - ISV patch layer

    VAR - Value added reseller layer (partner solution)

    VAP - Patch layer

    CUS - Layer for customer specific customizations

    CUP - patch layer

    USR - Layer for customization by the user (customer)

    USP - Patch layer.

    Please inform which layer is not clear.
