Cash flow forecast AX-2012

Hi everyone,

Has anyone worked on a cash flow forecast in AX-2012 other than the scenarios mentioned in manual. can someone give practical examples or experience of implementing Cash flow forecast. what are the practical tips for implementing cashflow forecast in a real time project.

    Hi Najeeb, the cash flow forecasting tool provides you at best with a very rough estimation of your cash in\outflows. Many important and large cash flow elements are often not included (e.g. for travel expenses, planner fixed asset purchases, social insurance contributions, bonus payments, etc.) because companies do not track those expenses and/or the budgets for them in AX. You can actually incorporate those expenses in budgets and have them included in your cash flow forecast. Yet, the setup required to realize takes really much time and effort. My suggestion would be to sit down and analyze the sources and uses of funds in your company and then using (flexible) BI tools to analyze and forecast your cash flows. There is no right or wrong and the whole process heavily depends on experience and often information that is not tracked in AX. Hope this helps, Ludwig

    what do you mean by 'setup required to realize takes really much time and effort'?

    If I create the budget entry for a budget model that is allowed for cashflow, i should be able to see those entries in cashflow?

    But i actually can't!!

    Looks like, theres is something that i am missing and that you know maybe? as a setup?
