on-hand vs sales order costing difference

Hi Everyone,

I'm noticing a discrepancy in the cost of an item when viewed on the on-hand form compared to when the same item is included in a sales order—the costs are different. Could anyone explain why this might be happening? For context, we are using the moving average method.

The discrepancy in cost you're noticing is likely due to the way the moving average method handles inventory valuation:
