Files (images, for example) are not displayed in iFrame using a URL blob in Unified Service Desk (USD), however they work in the browser. Instead, a Windows message is displayed requesting an application that can handle "blob". The blob URL is formed by the createObjectURL javascript function using a byte array retrieved from the Dynamics 365 activityMimeAttachment log. Any help is appreciated.
Hi Kikonjarder,
Thank you for your post.
While working with an Iframe in Browser you can have different sorts of redirects and all of those being done dynamically using a Post request based on the URL you might want, unfortunately using a WNR, USD is unable to send a Post request, the only request it can send it Get.
Regarding the behaviour I would recommend to have a look at the Browser Debugger->Network tab and understand what type of request will your Iframe content load process will send and where does it go from there in order to confirm if this is really the behaviour or not, otherwise due to security concerns, I would recommend raising a ticket to us in order to be able to help you with the investigation.
Thanks Madalina,
I checked the request type on Debugger->Network in browser and in USD.
In browser we have a GET request.
In USD there is no request and no error in console. Just get this window:
Hi kikonjarder,
Thank you for providing that screenshot.
In this case you need to implement an Windows Navigation rule in order to have the navigation in the context of USD from the page where you are to the page where it needs to go, otherwise without the navigation being correctly configured USD will not know what to do with it and it will try to ask you switching the context and this way breaking the connection with the already cached credentials for that session.
I don't know how compatible Azure Blob is with an Iframe in USD, therefore I went back to the PM in charge with USD and asked about it.
Just two annotations:
1. The Windows Navigation Rule it's implemented and working fine. We can download de blob object in a file correctly, but not showing in iFrame.
2. We are working with blob object in browser, not Azure Blob or any other external implementation.
These are the steps:
1. Click on url inside web resource (the red box)
2. Then a new window is open (with WNR) showing a web resource that contents a iFrame that's expected to show the file content as it does in browser. When click on "descargar" button then the file it's downloaded correctly in both, browser and USD.
Thank you for your help.
Thank you for clarifying the behaviour.
At the moment I do not think we have picture preview functionality for pictures stored in blob, but I reached out to PG in order to confirm.
I am going to reply back once there will be an official response from their side regarding this issue.
At my point of view this is not a funcionality to be implemented. We are talking about functionality OOB of any browser: just an iFrame html tag inside html page.
I'll wait for your news.
Regards.
