Importing Customer Contacts

hi

Can someone tell me how to import multiple customer contacts?

There are a few fields on the Customer entity (using DIEF/DIXF), but it only allows me to import a single contact (per type):

PhoneName Phone EmailName Email

The DIEF/DIXF tool allows for importing fields using the following column names:

    Email

    EmailName

    Phone

    PhoneName

    TeleFax

    FaxName

    URL

    UrlName

Then using the ‘Multiple value separator’ in the ‘Source data formats’ screen, you split the multiple values into lines.

    Sample Import:

    Email

    EmailName

    Phone

    PhoneName

    TeleFax

    FaxName

    URL

    UrlName

    JS_EMAIL1;JS_EMAIL2;JS_EMAIL3

    JS_EMAILNAME1;JS_EMAILNAME2;JS_EMAILNAME3

    JS_PHONE1;JS_PHONE2;JS_PHONE3

    JS_PHONENAME1;JS_PHONENAME2;JS_PHONENAME3

    JS_TELEFAX1

    JS_FAXNAME1

    JS_URL1

    JS_URLNAME1

Or use the Contact person entity?

    Hi Paul

The Contact person entity is a different screen?

It's a different Entity within the DIEF.

    Hi,

You can have as many different contacts as you like in AX, the important thing is the party relationship and type which links the contact to the customer. Also you would be much better off doing this in SQL than trusting the relatively unbound delimeters of Excel.

You'll need the Contact Person entity and the CustAccount that they belong to, also set the relationship type (LocationRole)

A few other fields help tidy up the data and AX functions.
