Link Customer Party Number to Customer Account Number

Hello,

When you import customers, D365 will add a party number for every customer in Global Address Book.

To import contacts for a customer, AssociatedPartyNumber in Contacts V2 should be filled.

Now, how to link customer Account Number with Party Number, as in Global address book we have only names and party number:

The issue is, if we duplicates names with customers but with different zip code, vlookup will not work.

Any idea?

BR,

David

    Hi David,

You will find the link from Customer to Party in the Customers V3 (if you run an older version of D365 it is Customers V2) entity.

    Hi David.

So you need the PartyID of the customer record. You can retrieve the "Customers V3" entity. In here you will have the customer ID, customer name,... as well as the "PARTYNUMBER". So you can use vlookup to get the needed information. You just need a list of contact and customer.

let me give an example to clarify more:

Once i imported customers: D365 insert records in global address book.

i have noticed that there are duplicates in names of customers.

so in result i have the following:

    pastedimage1587543016616v2.png

please note that Names are identical but those are different customers.

How to know: every customer account number is linked to which party id?

    Hope this is clear enough.

    BR,

    David

RE: Link Customer Party Number to Customer Account Number

    Hi David,

unfortunately your problem is not 100% clear to me. Do you need the party id from the customer or the party id from the contact? You write your have to link the customer account number with the party number or do I miss understand something?

In the global address book you can filter the records based on the role. So you can filter for just customers or just contacts. Does this help to solve your issue?
