Lifestyle services - Change from Tier1 to Tier2 or Development sandbox to user acceptance sandbox

(0) ShareShare

Hi all,

I've been asked to delete our development sandbox environment and to provision it as a Tier2 User acceptance sandbox. As per the available licenses it seems we have one spare for uat.

What have we done.

Stopped the old dev-02 sandbox

Deallocated the sandbox

Delete the sanbox

I can not configure it again but only as a dev sanbox, not as a uat sanbox.

Can any one give me a clear direction or step by step high level guide on how to do so (if at all possible)

Thanks heaps

    Hi Dippas,

Is this a customer project deployment? Then there is only one option for the DEV/BUILD environment. You should not mix the purpose of DEV and UAT. What was the reason to have the DEV provisioned as UAT?

Hi, we have dev, test, uat and prod. We are almost ready to go. The next step is data migration. We want to re create a prod like sandbox. Here we can then mograte data into. Apply fixes both manual and scripted. The data can the be moved to the production environment.

In this case, you should not delete a DEV environment, but build up a UAT and load possible ISV solutions and customizations using deployable packages. If you have a backup of or another environment with a clean database or one with some base configuration, you can use this as base. You can create a request for Microsoft to copy it to the UAT database. Possibly you have created data packages for the configuration. Then you can start with a default empty database.
