Best practices for admin account

Can someone please tell me what is considered best practice when it comes to master Admin AX account.  Currently, we have the account created as a generic ad account, not tied to a user.  The pw for this account is set to expire every 90 days.  Is it best to convert it to a service account, tie it to an actual user or leave it as a generic ad account.

    Personally I would choose for a service account.
