Financial dimension filter

Hi Everyone,

Could anyone please provide solution for my below scenario.

There are 2 financial dimensions which are created. Country and States. (01st FD is Country and 2nd FD is State)

If I am selecting the 01st FD the country, belongs to the country value,  the states FD values need to filter.

Please let me know, is there any way to filter the dimension values based on another dimension.

    Hi NANDAERP,

You can use advance rule structure for this, advanced rules provides additional financial dimensions capabiliy to become part of account combination which are not basically included in account structure. Please see the below link for futher information:

    Hi Kumar,

The suggestion from Junaid would also be my answer. Note that this is then only working on general journals. On default dimensions (e.g. customer form) these advanced rules are not applied.

    Hi NANDAERP,

You can try to map this scenario by using the dimension filter as I did for one of my clients. I have attached a screenshot just for an idea.

    Hi Nandaerp,

you can use the advance rule as answered by @Junaid.

As well as you can create a dimenstion hierarchy and map on accounting structure. it will work in the same way.

    pastedimage1608372502594v1.png

    Example:

Country: India. State: only available on Country India node.

in addition for a control purpose, you can update the derived dimension with "replacing the exiting dimension" which allows the user to select the 2nd dimension and the system will select the 1st dimension automatically.

    Hi Kumar,

Why do you need those financial dimensions?

There are standard BI reports available that allow classifying transactions by country/region.

Wonder for what purpose you need those specific findims?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
