Work item could not be created. Insufficient rights

Hi,

currently we got a problem to enable the purchase order workflow. Work items could not be assigned due to the following error message:

Stopped (error): X++ Exception: Work item could not be created. Insufficient rights for user ABC.
at SysWorkflowWorkItem-create
SysWorkflowWorkItem-createWorkItems
SysWorkflow-save
SysWorkflowQueue-resume

X++ Exception: The workflow system could not access the business document data. Report this issue to your system administrator.

If we assign the "System Administrator" role to the user "ABC" everything is working fine. Ax version is 2012 R3.

Thanks

    Hi Shafiq,

Each workflow has a 'document menu item' which tells AX from what form the workflow is created. The user ABC should have access to this menu item. You have not mentioned which workflow you are using, so I cannot tell you exactly which privilege or duty is missing for this user.

    Hi Shafiq,

Out of the box at least the Purchasing manager and Project manager roles can do an approval of purchase orders. The duty Approve purchase order is having the required permissions.

    Hi Andre,

Both roles are already assigned but no luck. If we assign system admin then it works.

    Thanks

    Shafiq

    Hi Shafiq,

Can you indicate if some other user do not have this problem? Do you have multiple AD domains in your company and have persons from multiple domains setup in AX?

  • Shafiq Rehman Profile Picture

nope we have only one domain. Account manager has the rights of account manager, account payable and receivable and its working fine.

are you using any security policy?

I would suggest you to go into AOT verify all security policies and make sure that all of those are disabled. then observe the result by resuming any workflow instance

    Hi Shafiq,

Can you try to disable the user, save the record and then enable the user again? If there is an incorrect SID value then this action will refresh the SID for the user(s).

    Hi,

If you debug method completeWorkflowItem class SysWorkflowWorkIten you can be able to identify the menuitem the system is failing to find, check Documentmenuitem from the PO workflow approval element
