Customize Close Activity

From the UCI Timeline control, when a user click "Close  Activity" from a Phone Call record, it display the "Close Phone Call" modal popup winodw.

Is there a way to add fields into that form? The user required to complete a two custom field before closing the activity for reporting purpose. At the moment, we can only get the user to open the Main Form which is slow and not efficient.

Can we do something like the Case Resolution dialog ?

    Hi Partner,

    Unfortunately, this particular form is not customizable through UI,

    As a workaround you can create your own dialog and attach the dialog on the click of a button through Ribbon workbench tool.

    Hello,

    We are facing this issue & working with Microosft to resolve this. Once we get any response , i will post the solution approach.

    However , we faced another challenge in UCI with "Close Activity" button. Initially all users including system admins were getting below error - "You do not have permission to perform this action. Please contact your system administrator". 

    We had to follow below steps to resolve this permission issue : 

    1. Create a new solution by going to Settings > Customizations > Solutions.  (If you are being redirected to the new PowerApps Solutions center, please click on Switch to Classic).
    2. Click on new, provide the required details and then save.
    3. Open the solution, then go to entities on the left panel, select entities > Add existing

     

    1. Add Activitypointer entity and uncheck the “Include entity metadata” option, it should look like this:

     

    1. Export the solution as ‘Unmanaged’
    2. Unzip the files and edit the customizations.xml file and remove all the content under <RibbonDiffXml Node. It will become:

     

    1. Add the solution files back to zip file and reimport the solution.
    2. Click on ‘Publish All Customizations’
    3. Try to close an activity of an account through timeline.
