Hi All,

I am quite new to D365 BC. I have few queries related to how to change the properties of a field in a standard table?

  1. I wanted to change the label/caption of a filed in a standard field.
  2. I also wanted to change the lookup process of of a filed in a standard field. Is it possible? Or should i first remove this field through design method from front end and create a custom one?

Please help me with this!

Thank you in Advance!

    1) You need to use:

    modify(YourField)

    {
      //change your property here
    }

    2) Normally you cannot change a standard field lookup (table relation) unless the lookup is handled by code and raise events for changing it. In other cases you should create a new field.

    Not possible to alter completely a standard table relation. You could break other extensions in this way.

    Moreover, the TableRelation property can be modified through a table extension. Modifications to the TableRelation are additive and evaluated after the existing value.
