dotNet data type not available, NAV 5.0 SP1

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

In a NAV 5.0 SP1 when I want to declare a variable of type dotNet it is not visible in the dropdown list in the C/AL globals/locals window.

On the server where the app is installed(client and service) we have both .NET 3.5 and .NET 4.00. The client has not been installed but copied. Is there any work around or the problem can be resolved only by reinstalling NAV?

Is there any other reason that might cause this problem?

Agree with other members. Not possible in 5.0, use from 2009

You do not have the .net data type in the earlier version. This option is available after NAV 2009 R2. Check on the Automation data type, it might help you.

This is available in higher versions and not in lower versions. It is available from NAV2009 onwards.
