I have to change a list of item numbers from x to y using BC16. I have about 700 item numbers that I need to revert to what they were a couple of years ago. I still want to see the data from the item number, which is why I want to give the item a new number. I tried using RapidStart to change the numbers and put the /old/ (x) item number in the common item number field so that we would still be able to search for it. However, when I do this, RapidStart just creates 700 new items with the new number rather than changing the existing item numbers. Is there any way to make this change in RapidStart? Or do I need to use alternative methods? If I have to use alternative methods, which ones should I consider?
