Bank Reconciliation - New Transactions

Hi

When adding a new transactions on a bank rec screen in D365, this moves the line to the Bank Statement and if you look at the accounting distribution you can see the account it will get posted to, This is fine if you have mapped the transactions codes with bank transaction type/Ledger account, however if this is adhoc is there a way you can add the distribution? or do you have to post these through a general journal? Not sure if I am missing something as the options on the distribution form are greyed out.

Thanks

Reshma

Can you post a screenshot of the form you're working in?  Also, is this Advanced Bank Rec or manual?  When I create a new entry in Advanced bank rec, I can enter the financial dimensions here

As Frank mentioned you can specify or update financial dimension distribution but if you are looking to update Main account as well. In that case Journal entry will be preferred one.

Thanks Frank/Saurabh we are using Auto Bank reconciliation, I can see that you can do this if you use manual similar to AX but with auto when you go to the distribution I can see the ledger account if I have attached a ledger account to transaction type but if I wanted to code it manually there doesn't appear to be an option.

It looks like from Saurabhs comment I should be able to edit the dimensions however all the options are greyed out for so I am also unable to do this.

Is there another step which will allow me to edit dimensions?

    Thanks

    Hi Both

I found the area where I can edit the account and dimension distribution, you have to go into the statement and on the new line, select the line section here you can edit the main account and dimensions.
