Load balancing of Enterprise Portal/SharePoint 2010

We have a SharePoint 2010 installation with the following components:

Server: SharePoint Farm Admin (Central Administration), Web Frontend (dns: server1)

Server: SharePoint Web Frontend (dns: server2)

Load Balancer: F5 BIG IP Hardware Load Balancer (dns: virtual1)

The idea is to have EP on 2 servers to balance load on the 2 evenly. I have installed Enterprise Portal components on both SP-servers and can successfully access and deploy to http://server1/sites/DynamicsAX

However the AX documentation does not state anything on how to correctly configure the Alternate Access Mappings (AAM). By default after installation, AAM is set to:

Internal URL =  http://server1 Public URL = http://server1

When I specify http://virtual1 as the default address in AAM, load balancing works perfectly, however I get an "end of line, SOAP exception" error when I try to deploy EP updates from AX.

Does anyone know how to configure this correctly so I can both load balance correctly, and be able to deploy at the same time?

Hi and thanks for the link, however I forgot to point out that this is for AX 2012, not 2009 as you sent in the link. And the link does not contain anything regarding Alternative Access Mappings, which is the main reason for opening this thread.

Do you have any guide or docs for how they should be set up correctly?
