The idea of an ERP is to streamline processes, but in the implementation I'm going through, while reviewing the way Dynamics handles the reserved capacity concerning a maintenance order disappointed me a lot.
There is a specific point where you define the start of the Maintenance order and it is when you release the order and consider it as /in process/
But after that you have to go to the Schedule Tab and AGAIN type the date and the start and finished tentative times.
There is no relation between the 2 start dates, where it should be, in my opinion.
Now, imagine that a supervisor reports the need for corrective maintenance
At first sight, he scheduled the order for 2 days (time in which the productive resource is out of action
Then when realizing that the spare is not available in the warehouse he has to create a requisition knowing that the supplier will take 90 days to deliver.
At the end , he needs to remember to GO BACK to the scheduling section and update the information.
Something here does not sound well or perhaps I´m not fully understanding how this works.
