How to point DevOps Build & Release pipeline to new Build server

Hi,

I want to know how can I point build and release pipeline to new build server.

Actually i had a build server which is deallocated now and a new build server was deployed. As I am running build pipeline, it is not creating any folders in it for code package.

Thanks

Create a second pool and deploy the build VM in there if you're worried?

    Hi Joris,

We are planning to deploy second build server. Is there anything I need to consider to do that? I worried a new build server deployment which create a new Agent pool agent, is there any possibility to overwrite the first agent?

The build definition is not pointing to a build server. It points to a pool of agents. When you deploy a build box, an agent is registered there which is tied to a pool. As long as you deploy the new build server to the same agent pool, nothing should have to be changed on the build definition. Check your list of build agents in your agent pools and check if the new agent shows up in the same pool as the old one.

That said, you can edit the build definition to "demand" the agent name or computer name to be something specific. But that would be a manual thing you or your team would have done... the build definition that is deployed for you does not set this.
