European installation?

My employer is currently in the process of migrating to Dynamics NAV 2013 R2. They have contracted this to an ISV. The users of NAV have noticed some oddities such as fields for VAT data input, VAT displaying on reports, etc. We are located in Canada, not Europe, and do not use VAT.

Being new to NAV, we aren't sure if this is normal or if it's possible that the ISV chose to do some sort of European installation rather than North American/Canadian.

While doing a database backup I noticed in the Active Session table there are two entries with Server Computer Name showing "navbr408v13.europe.corp.microsoft.com" and "navbr408v09.europe.corp.microsoft.com", both of which have User ID values of "EUROPE\NAVBUILD".

Is it possible that a European build is installed? Is there a way that I could verify this so we can take it up with our ISV? Or is all of this entirely normal for a North American/Canadian installation?

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

    Hello,

Have you tried changing your language (NAV system menu > Select Language) to English (Canada)?  Often the system will default to English (United Stateds), but many of the field captions are different between US/Canada (e.g., check vs. cheque).

    Regards,

    Rob

    RE: European installation?

    hi,

NAV previously had a unique version for North America Central and South America (named NA Release); 3 company with different sample data but with the same objects structure.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 - NA - North American version (U.S., Canada and Mexico

    Full NAV 2013 R2 NA (CA-MX-US)

    download from

dynamicsuser.net/.../365674.aspx  (based on RTM - ready to manufacturing Build, no-rollups)

Now you can download and use directly only Canada, the U.S. and Mexico releases; new downloads are updated to Rollup 6, not RTM.

    mbs.microsoft.com/.../MSDNAV2013R2DownloadPage

    CA-Canada

    MX-Mexico

    US-United States

    ...

i think that you are using U.S. release instead of CA release or your client is U.S. release based but uses a database for Canada localization; actually i dont'k know if Canadian release is different form United Sates release; yo need to ask to your partner.

To see which version you have, you can click on blue application ribbon. then help, then about MS NAV.  the new window that will open up, you should see NA 7.1  for north America.  if you see W1 7.1 another version, then you don't have the na version
