Transfer Order Receiving using Mobile Device

Posted on by 395

Hi,

I tried to configure transfer order receiving using Mobile device and apparently transfer order receiving on mobile device works only if I have used the work 'License Plate receiving' for the mobile device menu item. If I use the work 'Transfer order item receive and putaway' or 'Transfer order line receive and putaway', on the mobile device I get an error saying transfer order receiving works with License plate receiving.

Has anyone else been able to configure the 'Transfer order item receive and putaway'  work for the mobile device menu? Or is it a bug that the 'Transfer order item receive and putaway' or 'Transfer order line receive and putaway' works won't work?

Thanks and Regards,

Ashok

Thank you Ashok.  I created my transit warehouse with WHS on and everything seems to work.

    Hi Beth,

In order to retain your LP you need your transit warehouse to be WHS enabled.

Making the transit warehouse WHS controlled  will not make an issue. You need to define locations in the transit warehouse, which will not be LP controlled and then use those locations for manual transfers.

It probably would be a good idea for you to start a new thread for your questions, that way you will get better responses.. :)

    Hi Prashant/chr1s220,

Yes, I agree that the receipt location must be license plate controlled, and my configuration also the receipt location as LP controlled. I donot have any issues on that front.

My issue was why "Transfer order line / item receiving" menu item doesnot work for items shipped using mobile device menu.

In any case, my primary requirment was to be able to scan item code during TO receving. I have enable work validation on item code, so that even after scanning LP, the system would ask me to scan the item code as well.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

To do this, does my transit warehouse have to use WHS processing?  I have a non WHS warehouse as my transit warehouse at the moment, but I lost my license plate.

I have other non WHS warehouse I ship transfer orders in and out of, so right now the transit warehouse is set up the same way.  Since I can only have one transit warehouse per 'real' warehouse will making it WHS controlled be an issue?

    Thank you.

If you are planning to receive a TO with a mobile device the receipt location must be LP controlled. However, you can process TO within AX full screen to a non LP controlled location.

    Dear Ashok,

With the new Advanced Warehouse Management in R3, your Default Receipt Location needs to be license plate controlled. So as you are making transfer order in order to receive it you must have a pallet with you.

You can use use normal receiving. It is not necessary that you will use mobile device to receive. Complete the 1st work of issue and receive it manually.

    Hi NHNC,

That was exactly what I was trying to do. :) I was using the "Transfer order line / item receiving" option, and assigned the transfer order as the generic number. However, WHS mobile screen threw up the error that I need to use licence plate receiving menu to receive it. :). Is there any other way?

    Hi Ashok,

If you don't want to use a bar code with your shipment you can use a generic number that would be use to identify it. For example, you can asign the transfer order number. So you just need to identify which transfer order you are receiving and scan or manually type the transfer order id (number) and AX will show you the items on it.
