VSTS source control Metadata folder mapping

In source control I mistakenly mapped the metadata folder to local path "C:\AOSServices\PackagesLocal Directory\Metadata" and ran Map & Get. Later I removed the mapping and mapped the metadata folder to "C:\AOSServices\PackagesLocal Directory". But now this local metadata folder has become inaccessible and AOS service also not starting. While I am trying to open any project getting error "C:\AOSServices\PackagesLocal Directory\Metadata directory cannot be accessed".

Can anyone please help.

    What exactly do you mean by "this local metadata folder has become inaccessible"? Just changing TFVC mapping doesn't have impact on files on disk.

    the metadata folder at "C:\AOSServices\PackagesLocalDirectory" was not manually created. At the first place when I did the incorrect mapping, I could open the folder. But now I cannot open,delete,rename or copy this folder even with admin credential. I wonder if the folder access changed because of the mapping or for any other reason.

    It shows message 'Location is not available'. access denied'. I guess this error is OS related. This VM has Windows server 2016 datacentre edition.  What is your opinion?

    Thanks Martin for your time.

    Rebooting the VM resolved the issue.
