Hi everybody,

I am coming with a question for which I am hoping somebody might have an answer to:

I would like to create a Dashboard in Dynamics which would basically be a window to other sites such as a Teams Channel or our internal sort of Wikipedia pages with all sorts of sales-related info.

The idea is to bring visibility on these pages directly in Dynamics. Users will not have the option to edit those pages directly from Dynamics which is totally fine as they will still have to navigate to the original websites for that action but it would be of great benefit to have few of these URLs in a Dynamics dashboard.

I tried (as seen attached) yet it appears that due to a domain issue and security Dynamics can not fetch the content and I can not seem to find a way to override that.

Is there any other way I could bring such website content for read-only purpose under a dashboard or something similar in Dynamics?

Thank you in advance,

Cristina

    Hi Cristina,

What you internal sort of wikipedia pages mean?

If it means that you had your own website, then you could enable Cross-Origin Resource Sharing option of your server.(would be different based on IIS, apache or nginx)

For external websites(such as Team Channel, which you havn't access to configure from server-side),  try to find whether it had provided any public API to expose data , it would be the only option.

    Hi Clofly,

    Thanks for the reply!

Yes, that is correct. Those are our websites yet due to authentification issues even eanbling Cross-Origin Resource Sharing is rather challenging as the user will have to be logged in a brower where either the other pages are also open and in the same session or he will have to first login on those pages, then refresh Dynamics to expose the content. And apparently they tried it before with Sharepoint and still there were cases where the content was not displayed.

As per the API I will check.

    Kind regards,

    Cristina

    Hi Cristina,

As what you said, you should do much customization or even code to achieve requirement that CRM logged users could open other website pages without login again in same session.

You could take Portal odata function as reference: design an open public API to display data from your internal websites.

Hope you could solve your problem early.

    Rrgards,

    Clofly

Try to design a canvass app and embed in D365 model app.
